Day Three

GALEN -
Today is the beginning of day three in the Baja (Monday July 28th) and this is where the rubber meets the road. All of the prep work for the past few months and all of yesterday´s prep will come together today and for the rest of the week. Today we begin building beds. Our goal is to construct 10 twin size beds for people here. If we have time and can afford more materials we will build more beds. We have two construction crews ready to work. The first is within the ´benevolence¨team and we will be the ¨bed-builders¨. The second group doing constructing will be working a nearby house beginning the construction of a roof (Techo) for a nearby family.

Cheryl, Bev, Laura, Michelle and Jo are the leaders of the medical team and will have lots of families and children to see over the next few days. I believe we have hired a local doctor to work with us as well.

The girls (Kelsie, Morgan, Jenna, Sara, Kim, Jodi, and Jodi´s friend) will be handling the children´s classes and entertainment for the week. Ricky, David, Patrick and I will be constructing beds. Clint and Matt just left to secure materials for construction. Jason will be bouncing from team to team supervising and working with each group to make sure we are on track. Bill, Clint, Stephen and Juan Jose will spearhead the roofing project from what I have been told.

So , that´s it for now. It is nine-eighteen am here now and our day has begun.
More to come later.
